OK, I’m back. I had an unfortunate, uncomfortable, unforeseen, uncalled-for case of writer’s block. My magical month of March ended and I was left with April brain showers. I wandered around the house, unable to get anything else done either. I banged my head against the keyboard for several days and still… nothing.
Kitty said, “WHAT are you doing over here? JUST WRITE SOMETHING. Get over yourself, already.”
So I did. I feel better now.
I am glad that you got unblocked! (Oops, that kind of sounds like you had to take Metamucil or something.) Happy to have you typing away again……….
Mental castor oil does the trick every time
Feel free. Scribe Girl is at your disposal. 😉
Doesn’t seem like we operate in only two modes? In that good place, when we’re writing, we feel we are truly rarefied things, so fortunate that we can do this. Then we get blocked and empty and we feel cursed, like “Why did THIS have to be the thing I was (supposedly) good at?”
Just write. Still the best advice I’ve ever gotten.
I went back to the Scribegirl post to read it again. I would have linked to it but was unsure of the etiquette of linking to an “dormant” blog (?) I love that old post of yours… 🙂
I read your post and could totally relate, and I felt like I should leave a comment. But I couldn’t think of anything inspirational to say in a comment. Just saying “I can relate” seems too trite.
So… when I get done with MY case of writer’s block, I will leave you a proper comment!
Kris, I understand!!
