Darrelyn, the stories that occurred at the Colosseum are incredible and bizarre, especially when viewed by our culture, instead of through the lens of theirs.
Thanks for the sunny thoughts!

Kris, the resemblance was striking -- not necessarily from the structure itself, but the scope of how it would leave spectators in awe and wonder and maybe some intimidation.
Mind boggling - on how grateful I was to see Rome and the spring crocus. I think seeing the crocus peak through this week made me happier than anything else this long winter.

"On a par with today's new Dallas Cowboys stadium"? I laughed out loud at the analogy! Then I saw the picture, and I could see exactly where you were coming from.

Fantastic pictures, as always!!! And you make me want to do some travelling!

Would love to see the Colosseum some day, and try to imagine the stories that fill the place.

So glad you are finally enjoying some sunshine. "A warm hug from above" is exactly what it feels like here today, too. Enjoy!

Meridith, how good to hear from you! Cara has been giving me updates on your adventures and now I have your blog address to read as well. I enjoyed going back to read your posts, back to long before we met in the church, and they are absolutely delightful. Right after we returned home, I found A Warming Trend through Dan and I enjoy The Man's poetry very much. And now I have found you as well! Thank you for stopping by...

Hi Jane,

I met you briefly while sitting in the Basilica San Clemente a few weeks ago. Then, Jack and I ran into Cara and Dan on the train ride south to Naples...on the day you were supposed to be flying home. Anyway, Cara forwarded your blog info to me and I'm so happy she did.

Your photos are beautiful and I have enjoyed reading your impressions of Rome. I'm always learning more about this place and find others' impressions so interesting.

I also wanted to say that your previous blog with the harmonica player, Buddy somebody, is just incredible. Thank you so much for posting it. In fact, I am going to link him on my own blog. I think everyone should see that guy go.

I look forward to reading more on your site.

Ciao!
