Kris, I do wonder what would happen if Kenzie actually did catch a squirrel. I suspect it would be what you describe! Sounds like a case study for “be careful what you wish for…”

That sure does sound like a dog’s dream day! LOL! Although I should probably mention that on one fateful day my childhood dog DID catch a squirrel for the first time. Fortunately the critter didn’t beat her up or anything, but it ended up scaring the dog more than it did the squirrel. She dropped it and ran away, too disturbed for words. Her tail remained between her legs for quite a while, for she was too embarrassed about how scared she’d gotten. It was absolutely hysterical to watch! She liked acting tough and engaging in the pursuit, but she wasn’t prepared for actual success!

Hi Christi! I was never a dog person either, until I met this one… so watch out, it may just be a matter of time…. Ironically, it is well known around hear that I have EXCELLENT hearing for a human, but that is a whole ‘nother post! Unfortunately for Kenzie, I have selective hearing for her requests… I would be a better person if that changed.

I am not a dog person…well…I love them from a distance, but this post made me laugh out loud. My favorite line: “Feel dumbfounded that Jane has such lousy hearing. I can hear the Fed Ex man drop a paper clip in his truck 10 houses away, but she is so human.”

All of my dogs have their special day honored. I have held many canine birthday parties, complete with party hats, Frosty Paws ice cream and human and canine friends. We have the pictures to prove it! In my next life, I want to come back as one of MY dogs! It is a great life! Happy Belated Birthday, Miss Kenzie.
