Hi Int'l Mom Judy! I love when you stop by! Sounds like your kids will eat peanut butter on actual bread -- which is a sandwich, with or without jelly, that is STILL not an option here... it's good they make us laugh!

Jane - I laughed so hard! Kids are funny and endearing. Don't you just love them? (For the record - mine like peanut butter. No jelly.) This story reminded me of potty training - so different with each one.

I must admit that when I read the first line, "My kid ate squid," I was expecting the rest of the blog entry to read like Dr. Seuss!

That's great that the kids are expanding their food repertoire! My kids aren't picky, but neither are they totally open-minded either. What amuses me is how in some cases they will try something if you know how to word the description right. For example, my husband and I love Indian food. When we drag my kids along, they tell me they hate Indian food. They won't even take a bite. Yet I have a number of Indian recipes I make at home. My oldest loves "that chick pea dinner" - which is basically the same Chana Masala that they "hate" at Indian restaurants.

Ignorance is bliss!

Now we'll see what they think of the gumbo I'm experimenting with tonight!!!

I LOVE this! I'm reminded of being on vacation, stuck at a deli, and ordering a plain turkey on white sandwich for Emily. Her eyes grew wide and she asked, "Can you make this at our house?". I'll match your hallejuiah and raise you a praise cheeses!
