I live in Jane’s school district. It seems contradictory to me that my son was permitted to watch the televised inauguration of President Obama, but was not allowed to hear his message about staying in school and setting goals. Just a bit hypocritical, I think. Thanks Jane, for putting into words the frustration of many Amercians, especially us Moms!

I can’t believe {your district} didn’t show it. I heard that on the news last night and just sat there shaking my head. Do your best and become a productive member of society? What a horrible message to send to the youth of today.

Being from another country I try not to comment on these issues but its seems crazy not for anyone to give an inspirational speech on the value of getting an education, let alone the President of a country.

This type of action always makes me think of another President FDR :
“The only thing we have to fear is fear itself — nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance.”

There are a lot of moms today shouting this message from the rooftops, there are probably dads banging the drum too, but I’ve seen the moms out in FORCE.

It’s sickening just to see the titles of the articles that are randomly generated as “possibly related.”

I can’t even imagine why these people feel the need to infect the brains … young and old… with the opinions of the politicos spreading this ugliness.

My tv is off. I won’t watch talking heads smear the muck that is today’s politcal pigstye onto the president.

I love the prez. I hope he can keep himself from being weighed down by the barrage of negativity that he encounters day after day.

what ever happened to “if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all?”
